About Our Pastor:
Drew Clinebell is a licensed Pastor with the State of New Jersey. Drew grew up in Linden, N.J. with his two brothers, Mark and Jay. "We regularly attended our church's Sunday School and Wednesday Night Bible Study. We learned how God had a plan for our lives and a purpose for each of us to fulfill. But I held my life back from God. I was afraid if I gave God control of my life He would send me some place horrible with a terrible task to complete. I couldn't have been more wrong!"
"I finally handed the reigns of my life over to God when I was twenty-three. I started serving Him by picking up kids for softball, I loved it. I then started working in the youth group teaching and introducing arts like drama and live band and loved that as well."
"I started wondering what a church would be like that coupled the beauty of the arts with the power of God's word. That’ s when I felt God wanted me start Bible college and prepare for whatever God may bring in the future."
Drew started attending Somerset Christian College. After receiving his associates degree in Biblical Studies, Drew transferred to Philadelphia Biblical University and completed his B.S. in Bible. "I knew that whatever God wanted me to do in ministry the cornerstone would be teaching His word. The Bible offers hope and joy but it never pulls any punches as to the reality we all live in. That's what we dreamed of, a place where we honestly look at life and apply the hope of Christ to it. That's why we now give our message CD's away for free. We feel if we can give people anything it should be an understanding of God's word."
Drew moved to Warren county in 1992 and built a home in White Township with his wife Kellie and his three children, Katie 7, Cody 5, and Caleb 1. "Kellie and I wanted to plant the church we were dreaming about but were insistent on it not being our endeavor so we waited for God to show us when and where."
Andrew is currently employed by the city of Linden, as a professional firefighter. That's how God used 911 to signal us that His time had come."(see "From Ground Zero" story) Westbridge Community Church was planted one year after 911.
Drew's unique calling of firefighting in conjunction with pastoring allows Westbridge to focus it's resources on being the church that God has envisioned Drew and Kellie with.
We want Westbridge to be the kind of place where everyone is accepted as they are and feel comfortable as they seek God. We want people to be themselves and get to know each other and God for who they really are. I think if people give Westbridge a try, they'll find it exciting, honest and intriguing, and if it's not for them, we totally understand, but we bet they'll know someone who would like it. We offer those folks the opportunity to meet us at “the bridge."
